Friday 20th November 2009 Telephone System - we appear to be experiencing intermittent problems with our telephone system today. BT are working very hard in order to try and resolve the problems and we hope to be back in full working order later this afternoon.

 

Welcome to The Highfield School web site.

Highfield is an 11 to 18 co-educational comprehensive school set in its own extensive grounds in Letchworth Garden City. Our vision for the school is simple – we aim to maximise the individual potential of each student and ensure that whatever their ability level, students become equipped to meet the challenges of education, work and life. The school opened in 1965 and over the last 40 or so years has established a reputation as friendly, caring, well disciplined school with a strong focus on raising standards of achievement.

This year’s examination results were the highest the school has ever achieved with a positive Value Added score and 73% of students in Year 11 gaining at least 5A*-C grades.  Our 6th formers enjoyed equal success, with the vast majority of students gaining access to their first choice university.

We are a Science Specialist School and have Leading Edge status.  We also have the Silver Artsmark Award as well as the Healthy Schools' Award, Connexions Quality Award, Quality in Study Support Award, and Inclusion Quality Mark.
