Highfield is a very successful 11 to 18 co-educational comprehensive school set in its own extensive grounds in Letchworth Garden City. Our vision for the school is simple – we aim to maximise the individual potential of each student and ensure that whatever their ability level, students become equipped to meet the challenges of education, work and life. The school opened in 1965 and over the last 50 or so years has established a reputation as friendly, caring, well disciplined school with a strong focus on raising standards of achievement.

Our recent Ofsted report graded the school 'good with outstanding features' and this year’s examination results were again the highest the school has ever achieved - with 84% of students in Year 11 gaining at least 5A*-C grades.  This continues our run of increasing our year-on-year performance.  Our 6th formers enjoyed equal success, with the vast majority of students gaining access to their first choice university.

From the 1st April 2013 we became a Co-operative Trust school – part of the Letchworth Garden City Education Partnership which will provide many exciting opportunities for our students

This web site outlines some of the many aspects of our work, including work we are doing as part of the LGC Education Partnership and our outstanding pastoral and curriculum provision. The school prospectus is also available from this page and I would be delighted to answer any questions you may have. Please email (admin@highfield.herts.sch.uk) or telephone (01462 620500) and I look forward to sharing more information with you about the school and the progress we are making.
