New Homework Timetable – Supporting Your Child’s Success
We are delighted to share our new structured homework timetable for Years 7 to 11, designed to help students develop strong learning habits and manage their workload effectively.
Highlights:
Clear Routine:
Homework is set on specific days with clear deadlines, providing a predictable schedule to help students stay organised..
Balanced Workload:
Tasks are thoughtfully spread across the week to encourage consistent progress without overwhelming students, leaving some flexibility in KS3 especially to help students learn how to prioritise tasks and leave time for extra curricular activities.
Rewards and Recognition:
Students earn house points for completing homework to a high standard, celebrating their hard work and achievement.
Parental Engagement:
Parents receive timely reminders via Class Charts if their child needs to attend a homework detention, and can easily check homework status anytime to support their child’s progress.
Digital Access:
All students at The Highfield School are issued an iPad in order that they can access all homework tasks effectively and build their digital confidence and safety.
We look forward to working with families to help all students thrive with this new approach. Please contact your child’s subject teacher or form tutor if you have any questions.
Class Charts:
You can log in to Class Charts using the details which have previously been provided to you. Please contact your Tutor if you have lost these details.
You can work on your homework at school during Homework Club. Homework Club runs every day after school (3pm-4pm) in the Library.
