It is a great privilege to welcome you to The Highfield School, part of the Scholars’ Education Trust.

Highfield is a vibrant and ambitious school community. Our vision is simple: ‘we work together to succeed and thrive’.  We have a shared commitment to ensuring that every young person is supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Highfield is a welcoming and inclusive school where students are known, valued and encouraged to be their very best. We have high expectations of all our students and provide the challenge, support and opportunities they need to succeed. At the heart of our community are our values of Caring, Respectful and Determined, which shape the way we learn, work and treat one another.

We are ambitious for every young person and believe that all students should be encouraged and supported to achieve their full potential. This is reflected in the high expectations we have for our students, the quality of teaching and learning, and the care and support provided by our staff.  Our students work hard and are encouraged to take pride in their learning, but we also recognise that the very best learning comes when students are engaged, curious and inspired. Our broad and ambitious curriculum provides a strong academic foundation while also giving students opportunities to explore their interests, develop their creativity and discover new talents.

We believe that education is about much more than examination results. Alongside academic success, we place great importance on personal development, character and preparing young people for life beyond school. Students are encouraged to develop confidence, resilience and independence, and to understand their responsibilities to their local, national and global communities.

Our students are at the heart of all we do at The Highfield School. Student leadership is a particular strength, with our Head Student Leaders, School Council and School Parliament providing opportunities for students to express their views, take responsibility and contribute to the development of our school community. We are immensely proud of the many achievements and contributions of our students and celebrate their successes in all their different forms.

Highfield is also a school built on positive relationships. There is a strong sense of respect and consideration between students and staff, creating a happy, safe and supportive environment in which young people can learn and flourish. We believe that students achieve their best when they feel secure, valued and part of a community.

Our relationship with parents, carers and the wider community is equally important. We work in partnership with families and our local community to provide our students with a rich range of experiences and opportunities. These partnerships help our young people to understand the world around them and prepare confidently for their futures.

There is much to be proud of at Highfield. It is a school with a strong sense of community, high aspirations and a clear commitment to helping every young person succeed and thrive.
